It is important to remember that your reader may not have read the work you have reviewed. So, the main purpose of the summary is to provide the reader with the information necessary to understand the critical commentary that follows. It is obviously not possible to summarize the entire book.
It is also important to remember that the summary should be objective and should not include any personal interpretation or discussion.
