Why all deaf children should be taught a sign language

Conferencia Donna Jo Napoli 1/5

Professor Donna Jo Napoli, from Swarthmore College in the US, one of the authors of the paper we translated and disseminated last year which is available in this very same page (about the scientific arguments that support the idea that all deaf children should be offered a sign language), came to visit the Universitat Pompeu Fabra and gave us a talk about the contents of said paper. The talk was organized together by the Linguistic Policies Department of the Generalitat de Catalunya and the LSCLab of the UPF and was entitled “The right to language: Why all deaf children should be taught a sign language”. Here is the full recording!
